Keune Design Protein Spray can be used as an optional pre-treatment.
Divide the hair into 4 sections.
Wear disposable gloves during the straightening and rinsing process and mix the Straightening Cream in a non-metallic bowl.
Determine the strength of Straightening Cream to be used by diagnosing the hair. Use Normal for naturally fine to resistant hair, or colour-treated hair in good condition. Use Strong for naturally strong, resistant-very resistant hair. Do not use on sensitive, damaged, bleached/highlighted, previously relaxed hair or irritated/sensitive scalp.
Apply Straightening Cream to dry or towel-dried hair. Only cleanse the hair if it is very oily or dirty.
On Virgin hair, apply rapidly with a colour brush, section by section, starting at the nape. Keep Straightening Cream at least 0.5cm/0.2in from the scalp. For Regrowth application, only apply to the regrowth section.
Carefully work through the hair for even distribution, avoiding tension on the hair. Total application time should not exceed 5 minutes. Smooth the hair with fingers, side of hand or a wide tooth comb regularly. Do not cover the hair during processing time.
Leave to process for 5-20 minutes, depending on the structure of the hair. The application time must be counted as part of the total processing time. Never leave Straightening Cream in contact with the hair for more than 25 minutes. Continue to smooth the hair gently with fingers or a wide tooth comb throughout the processing time.
After processing is complete, rinse hair thoroughly with warm water for 10 minutes. Rinsing water should never come into contact with the eyes.
Carefully towel-dry then blow-dry the hair.
Section the hair and slowly iron small sections from scalp to ends, beginning at the nape. Iron each section 6-8 times, until completely straight. Use a ceramic straightening iron and do not keep in one place for longer than 3 seconds. Temperature should not exceed 180°C (360°F).
On Virgin hair, apply the Neutralization Cream section by section, starting at the nape. Comb or smooth through the hair with fingers. For Regrowth application, only apply to the regrowth section.
Allow the Neutralization Cream to process for 2-3 minutes. Smooth the hair down regularly so it remains straight during the processing time.
Rinse hair thoroughly, towel-dry, then blow-dry and style as desired.
